Certified Professional (CP) Services

Noven Consulting provides Certified Professional (CP) services for eligible projects in municipalities that operate a CP program. Our CP services include building code review, permit coordination and construction-stage review under the applicable municipal program.

For Vancouver projects, the City's CP program explains the process. The City retains permit issuance, and the CP role adds a defined layer of review alongside the project's other registered professionals.

Design, permitting and construction

Following confirmation of municipal program eligibility, the scope can include:

• Building code analysis and coordination of code-related design issues.
• Review of the information assembled for the CP permit submission.
• Communication with the project team and municipality about review comments.
• Construction-stage review and completion documentation within the CP role.

The appointment and proposal define the review stages, deliverables and responsibilities. The CP does not take over the architectural, structural or other discipline-specific design roles.

Certified Professional

The City of Vancouver's Certified Professional Engineers list identifies Pedram Faghani, P.Eng., with Noven Consulting Inc. The responsible CP and availability are confirmed for each engagement.

Municipal program requirements

The CP process is available in participating municipalities for eligible projects. The municipality establishes its submission requirements and retains responsibility for issuing permits.

Send the site address and municipality, proposed use, project stage, available drawings and the names of the appointed design professionals. Include any permit correspondence and the intended construction sequence if staged work is being considered.
